Important Competition Guidelines:
- Who enters here: Contestants enrolled at a secondary school outside Asia — including Europe, the UK, Australia and the Americas — register through this S.-T. Yau High School Science Award (North America / Overseas) portal.
- Language Requirement: The research paper, abstract, and oral defense must be entirely in English (English is required).
- AI Usage Policy: Generative AI tools must adhere strictly to the principle of "assistance rather than substitution" and be formally disclosed in Acknowledgments. Ghostwriting is prohibited. View Full AI Policy →
- Instructors: 1–2 supervising instructors are permitted per team.
- Journal Publication & Copyright: Participating students may submit projects to the 2026 North America S.-T. Yau High School Science Award that have previously been submitted to a journal for publication. However, if a paper is selected for a Yau Award, the Yau Award Committee will hold the copyright and have the right to publish the paper.
